How did you get started with CrossFit? I struggled to find a good work out program that was both challenging and fun. I tried lots of different workout programs, challenges, and classes but nothing seemed to stick long-term. In December of 2015 a friend of mine in my hometown of Mechanicsville, Virginia convinced me to try a week of free CrossFit classes with her. I ended up joining my first gym, CrossFit Lacertus, and then participated in the open in 2016. The competitiveness of the open along with the community of my gym is what really drew me in. 

What is your previous sport or exercise background? I played softball up through 10th grade and volleyball all through high school. I also did a lot of weight training in the off season. I’ve played on co-ed volleyball leagues both indoor and sand since high school.

What is one fun fact about you? I worked at a 9-5 desk job for a number of years in Virginia where I grew up. I decided I needed to make a change and within a few months I was enrolled in massage school and was off to Florida to start the my new chapter. Haven’t looked back since.
